Advanced Emergency Medical Technician September 2023

The AEMT course is considered a blended course with online assignments as well as "live" in person lab. The course is 15 weeks long. Each week, the student will be responsible for doing assignments online and at their own pace.  "Live" lab sessions will be held every Monday and Wednesday and one Saturday a month.  The schedule is attached for the list of dates for this course with mandatory "live" lab sessions marked.

The primary focus of the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.

Prerequisite: You must hold a valid EMT certification. You must provide an updated BLS CPR card, current Pa. State Background Check within 1 year of registration and a current Child Abuse Clearance within 1 year of registration.

Payment Information: Payments made online via credit card, money order or personal check.  Payments must be received 1 week before course.  Cancellations up until the third day of class start date with refund of $1350.00 minus a non refundable fee of $150.00 administrative fees. 

Payment includes: A student shirt and online classroom access.  You must purchase your book, student liability insurance (details will be provided at a later date) and access to a clinical recording platform (Platinum Planner/FISDAP) (details will be provided at a later date).
